Mod Class
Following back-to-back victories at the 2020 Inaugural Sand Outlaws Race and Sand Mountain Utah, #TeamEVP's “Desert Storm” Mod Turbo Class Can Am X3 remains undefeated for the entire season. Not only that, an EVP built, stock ECU vehicle running the all new DS-500RX turbo system finished second place. To show how close the factory ECU and MoTeC tuned vehicles are, at the finals, the factory ECU Tuned “Baby Yoda” DS-500RX car driven by Brandon Ristau tied the EVP Desert Storm car. When the race was rerun, the Desert Storm pulled ahead. Many competitors came gunning for the Desert Storm, but when the sand settled, #357 driven by EVP’s Dan Picht emerged victorious.

Outlaw Class:
The all new from the ground up EVP HUSTLER car made its debut at this race. Over 9 months in development, the car was primed and ready to compete. Unfortunately, an issue developed with the primary clutch due to sand ingestion and caused the clutch to fail. The way the clutch broke precluded the use of a puller to remove and replace it. After 11 hours, and 5 people working on the car we finally got the clutch off but realized the crankshaft clutch bolt threads had been damaged. With only 90 minutes to go before the race, we found a tap at a local parts store. The crankshaft was re tapped, but the threads were loose. We were out of time, so we installed a new clutch and torqued it as far as we could given the circumstances. Unfortunately, during the race the threads gave way and the clutch spun on the crankshaft. The Hustler will be at the next race at St Anthony over Labor Day ready to compete.

Stock Turbo Class:
Essentially a repeat of the Sand Outlaws Utah event, the EVP 2020 Can Am X3 RR XDS driven by EVP’s Dan Picht finished on top. The vehicle is a stock engine, stock turbo daily driver trail machine with a full stereo, mud fenders and subwoofer system. This vehicle has been the test bed for all X3 RR stock turbo, consumer-based tunes and packages. The car was running our yet unreleased Vmap 3 Tune Multi Map 91/100 octane tune and drag race OEM clutch package. Even with the extra weight and stock turbo 37mm turbo inducer limitation, we were still able to hold off the competitors and take first place. Our X3 featured the following components:

- EVP drag race clutching for the OEM Clutches – Coming Soon
- MB Quart - Stage 3 sound system
- Lonestar Racing - Roof for the OEM Cage
