Back to Back victories for EVP Racers!
Evolution Powersports had another great weekend at the inaugural South Texas Showdown drag race. The Fisher family spent many months planning the event and prepping the track. Not only that, they offered huge payouts to lure in racers in from all over the U.S. The race was broken into 3 classes: Stock, Mod and Outlaw.
STOCK CLASS
EVP racers place 1st and 2nd in a competitive stock class! Dustin Couch took 1st place and ran undefeated for the day in his Can Am X3. Berta Fisher took 2nd place in her 2021 Can Am X3 MG1. Both vehicles were running EVP Stage 5-X85 packages custom tuned by EVP co-owner Jim Zuccone on the stock ECU. Dustin's car has the ME17 ECU with EVP Launch Control; Berts's car has the newer MG1 ECU with EVP Adjustable Launch Control.
MOD CLASS:
Mike Reid continues to dominate the mid-size turbo class with "Batmobile." Mike ran the day undefeated in the class and took 1st place in his 2017 Can-Am X3. Mike runs an EVP Paragon P43R Race Turbo System with the stock ME17 ECU custom tuned by EVP co-owner Jim Zuccone. The P43R turbo system is the most badass direct-replacement turbocharger on the market for its combination of big power and instant spool. The package is so drivable that Mike regularly dunes his racecar.
Outlaw Class:
Again EVP racers finish 1st and 2nd! Michael Reid continues to challenge other drivers with much larger turbos and almost always finishes at the top of the pack. This race was no different with Michael taking 2nd place in field of fast cars. The EVP Paragon P43R turbo system combined with Michael’s driving and the hard work he and Steph put into the chassis put them in contention for the win. In the final race, Michael got the jump on Brody Fisher, but Fisher drove like hell and powered around Michael to take the win. Fisher took the 1st place finish in his Can Am X3 with an EVP DS-600 turbo system build by EVP and custom tuned by EVP's Dan Picht. Brody ran the class undefeated for the day.
Congratulations EVP Racers and to the Fisher family for putting on a great event!
And special thanks to Stephanie Reid for the photos and videos!
