Evolution PowerSports racers in their EVP tuned Can-am Maverick X3's Sweep the podium at the
SXS Sports LLC Race last Saturday and Sunday in Lena WI. Kyle Chaney (1st) Scottie Lawrence (2nd) and Tyler Livingston (3rd)
Kyle Chaney fought clutch issues all weekend and a broken belt in qualifying had him starting dead last for the final race. Kyle knew he had to take his time and run the car smooth and try to make up as much ground as possible without stressing the belt in the final. Kyle pushed the car hard and was able to make it to the mid pack by the halfway caution where the belt cooled down and he was able to give it full power for the restart. After the restart he took the lead and held it until the checkered flag.
"I was very fortunate the belt held up as long as it did for slipping as bad as it was and going from last to first is a huge accomplishment. The car had a tremendous amount of power and we were not clutched properly for the amount of power the guys at EVP gave me. We will have this issue figured out and we will be 100% ready to go for round 1 of the Lucas Midwest Series next month!!" Scottie Lawrence was consistent all weekend with 2 x 2nd place finishes in both races. In the first Main his pumper hose came off his helmet on lap 1 and his visor fogged up completely. He dropped back to 4th and during a caution he was able to reattached his hose and was ready to reclaim a few spots. He made it back up to 2nd and one of the banjo bolts for my rear brake caliper came loose so he couldn't charge the corners hard enough to take the lead and finished 2nd.
In main #2 Scottie again dropped back to 4th but worked his way back up to 2nd again behind Kyle Chaney and settled there until the checkered flag going 2-2 for the weekend and settling into a tie with Jimmy Henderson for the points Championship. Scottie runs all of EVP engine components and tuning which keep him running out in front consistently ahead of the competition.
Tyler Livingston finished a solid 3rd place in round 3 and currently is in 3rd place for overall points in this series. Tyler also runs all of EVP engine components and tuning which keep him running out in front consistently ahead of the competition.
