EVP X3 “Hustler” Wins the SXSblog RACETOBER Drag Race Shootout

Auburn, MI: October 5th, Racetober 2019 – 15 acres of land, 500′ of fresh dirt, and over 200 vehicle gathered from across the US and Canada for a "run what you brung" race event at the SXSBlog Compound. With nothing but bragging rights and a sweet trophy on the line EVP’s "Hustler” can-am Maverick X3, driven by Dan Picht, defended our title from May and took home the win in the shootout of the 8 fastest cars at the event.  EVP's "Dynomite" Desert Storm dune car finished 4th against purpose built drag cars. There were some very fast cars at this event including fully built drag RZR's, Z1 powered cars and a 1200cc turbocharged Rotax powered RZR we raced in the finals.  Our 900CC Maverick X3 "Hustler" was undefeated and brought home the hardware.

The cars we brought to this shootout are our 2 original test mules – both 2017 can-am Maverick X3’s with over 6000 miles on the odometer. The cars were prepped by EVP’s team of Tim Goodman & Bryce Carlson and driven by Dan Picht. When we say “We test where your ride” we mean it. These cars have been all over the country in almost every conceivable condition – sand, dirt, rock crawling, trail, high elevation, low elevation, 115 degree So Cal desert heat, etc. Just last month we were in Waynoka Oklahoma and won the sand drag races there with the "Hustler".

What makes our X3's so fast you ask? Both of these cars have been undergoing nonstop R&D over the past 3 years. The turbo systems on each engine have been engineered from the ground up and each tuned to maximize the power from E85 Fuel. Our "Hustler" has a fully built engine and pushes the limits of the 900CC base rotax engine fitted with a syvecs engine management system. The "Dynomite" has a stock engine with upgraded camshafts and head studs only. It is fitted with our "Desert Storm" turbo system and is pushing 370 HP using the stock Bosch ECU with our integrated Launch Control setup. Both cars have EVP's Shift-Tek clutch components that put the power to the ground using our BadASS CVT Belt. More details about the Desert Storm turbo system and complete turn-key race cars will be released shortly. Stay Tuned!
