EVP Sand Outlaws Finals Champions

Mod Class

After suffering the first mechanical issues of the season at race #5, the EVP Desert Storm car came back with guns blazing for the finals. The car was performing well in practice until we had a fuel injector malfunction. Scrambling to find injectors, we reached out to Paul Yaw from Injector Dynamics. Paul pulled out all stops and overnighted us a set of injectors which got us back to operational just in the nick of time. The DS car, piloted by Dan Picht, moved its way through the brackets all the way to the finals. It came down to the Packard YXZ vs the Desert Storm – the Packard car came into the finals with one loss, Desert Storm undefeated. This meant that if Packard lost 1 race, the Desert Storm car would win, but the Desert Storm Car would have to lose twice for Packard to win. In the first of the two races, the Packard YXZ edged out the DS car. Dan made some quick adjustments to the tune and they lined up again – this time is was the DS car which edged out the Packard YXZ in a great race. This not only sealed the win for the final race of the Sand Outlaws Series, but gave us the championship in the Mod class for the season! The DS car won 5 out of the 6 Mod Class Sand Outlaws races throughout the year. Needless to say, no other competitor came close.

Outlaw Class

The EVP Hustler Car performed well in testing but ended the season with a disappointing series of break downs. We are re-assessing some of the package components to make the car more reliable in 2021.

Stock Class

Once again, an EVP tuned 2020 Can Am X3 piloted by Billy Long went undefeated in any heat and won the stock turbo class.  This made 4 first place finishes for EVP cars in the stock class.  2 Can Am X3’s and a Pro XP Turbo.
