Pataskala, OH (7/16/2018) – Can-Am/XPS Lubricants/CT Raceworx/Evolution Powersports driver Kyle Chaney swept both UTV Pro Modified races during the Lucas Oil Midwest Short Course League doubleheader at ERX Motor Park in Elk River, MN. The two victories moved him to third in points.  Chaney shook off bad luck from the opening rounds at Crandon and was at the top of the speed charts all weekend. He qualified first for Friday’s race and, after starting on the second row due to the invert, he set out to run a smooth pace. However, with caution flags waving several times early in the 20-minute event, he quickly took a more aggressive stance, took the lead, and went on to win. “The car worked really well in qualifying and I left the setup the same,” said Chaney. “I should have switched to my dry setup because the car was hooking up almost too well in the corners. I just wanted to take my time and work my way to the front, but we had so many cautions that I had to start getting aggressive. I cleared the field a little bit and opened up a big gap. I held on the last couple of laps.” After again qualifying first for Saturday’s race, Chaney started on the pole. He took the lead at the start and was never seriously challenged during a perfect run. “I just hit my marks and ran a smooth pace,” said Chaney. “I don’t think I made one mistake all race. The Maxxis Tires gave me too much traction, which is a good issue to have because it’s easy to fix. The car was awesome all weekend. The Fox Shocks and G-Force Tune helped me tie everything together for a perfect weekend.” Chaney is quickly in the thick of the points battle heading into the final two events. The next event is being held at Bark River in Michigan. He’s looking forward to continuing his win streak at his preferred track. “I knew I had the speed and the machine this year,” said Chaney. “My goal now is go for race wins. We accomplished that goal this weekend, so hopefully we can keep the streak alive when we get to my favorite track at Bark River.” Chaney is looking to again put his Can-Am X3 at the front of the field as the Midwest Short Course League next heads to Bark River International Raceway. The doubleheader weekend is scheduled for August 10-13 in Bark River, MI.
