EVP DISCLAIMERS:
- EVP MG1 Adjustable Launch Control is only available for 2024 Maverick R's that have ALREADY HAD THE MG1 ECU HARDWARE UNLOCK AND TUNE performed by EVP.
- Maverick R Launch Control is only available for EVP Race Gas ECU Power Flashes at this time (96, 100, 110, or E85 ECU Power Flashes only)
The pinnacle of UTV launch control programming!
EVP set the standard with the first-ever launch control integration into the factory Can-Am ECU. But our Research and Development Team didn’t stop there! They’ve worked exceptionally hard for months developing and testing to ultimately bring you, the Maverick R community, the best-performing upgrades possible for your ride. In addition to the countless hours in product development for the Transmission Tuning (coming soon!), we found the much-needed time to implement an adjustable launch control similar to the MG1 X3. Having a geared transmission makes it a bit more complex to implement, but we did not let the difficulties stand in our way!
Launch RPM is set with the engine off and the dash cluster lit up with engine RPMs displayed at the bottom of the screen. While holding the headlight switch in the down position, press the gas pedal until you see the RPMs change on the cluster. Release the headlight switch when you get to your desired launch RPM. Once this is set, the ECU remembers this setting and will remain there until you change it. To enter launch mode, the transmission temperature must be at least 130 degrees F. Customers will have no way of reading this, however, this transmission temperature is reached when the engine temperature has been at 4 bars for about 5 minutes. The transmission will get up to temperature faster if the vehicle is driven rather than idling. Other safety parameters will prevent launch mode from being entered such as high coolant temp and/or intake temp as well but if the vehicle is operating within normal parameters, launch mode can be enabled. Next, the vehicle is shifted into DRIVE mode in either SPORT or SPORT+ in high gear. Once in gear, hold the engine mode button down for 5 seconds. You will see the Launch Mode Enabled with a small RPM gauge icon appearing on the cluster. You are now in launch staging mode. To enter launch mode, press the brake pedal to keep the car from moving and press the gas pedal to the floor. The engine RPM will climb to the RPM you set previously, and the engine will build about 15lbs of boost (depending upon the set RPM). As soon as you release the brake, the clutches will grab, and the car will rip ahead with speed. On the higher-octane tunes, it feels like being shot out of a cannon. Customers must be careful with Launch Control on dry pavement. Although we have had zero transmission issues and there are many transmission safety features built in, it is conceivable that sticky tires and very high RPM launches could damage the driveline. We typically keep our launches on the pavement to 3500 RPMs or less. Dirt or sand launches are much easier on the driveline. Use at your own risk.
- On-demand launch RPM adjustability using OEM controls WITHOUT interfacing with the CodeShooter app or re-flashing the ECU
- Increase (or decrease) launch RPM by increments of 100 RPM from 2200 RPM up to 5200 RPM
- Additional boost, peak boost, and AFR monitoring on the OEM display without requiring a dash flash
- OEM-like integration where the launch strategy keeps the clutches from engaging during staging and launch mode until the brake is released. The clutches then quickly ramp in pressure for a slingshot type launch!
