Can-Am/XPS Lubricants/EVP/Chaney Racing driver Kyle Chaney won his fifth consecutive Pro Modified SXS race and then earned a podium in his Pro4 Truck debut during the most recent Lucas Oil Midwest Short Course League weekend. The events were held at Bark River International Raceway in Bark River, MI. 
Driving his Can-Am Maverick X3 built by CT Race Worx and tuned by Evolution Powersports Chaney won the first of two Pro Modified SXS races and was headed for yet another win when a freak tire issue took him out of contention, but he is now within four points of clinching the Pro Modified title at Crandon with five wins in the books. Chaney landed on the podium along with teammate Scottie Lawrence in his Rival Motorsports / EVP tuned X3 in the 3rd spot. “The Can-Am ran virtually flawlessly this year,” said Chaney. “We had some bad luck this round with a cut tire, but all in all it’s been a great season. I would have loved to go undefeated, but championships are what pays the bills. We’ve proven the Maverick X3 is strong.”
Lawrence, who is teammates with Chaney put his EVP tuned X3 on the podium in both rounds of racing at Bark River in the Lucas Oil Midwest Short Course League and maintains a 3 place in points for the season. 
Chaney also made his debut in the top-tier Pro4 truck class here. Despite little testing time in the new truck, Chaney finished on the podium in the battle of attrition in Saturday’s race, finishing third. In the second race of the weekend, an electrical problem sidelined Chaney before the start. 
“It was my first Pro4 race and I had spent just 20 minutes in the truck testing,” said Chaney. “Went out there, started last, and by the end of the race, we got third. This is a brand-new car, but it sat for two years so we still have a few bugs to work out of it.
With the Pro Modified SXS virtually wrapped up, Chaney will have some breathing room to focus on his Pro4 effort the final race weekend in Crandon. He will be laser focused on gaining experience in the Pro4 truck so he can go into next year with momentum. “We’re going to focus hard on Pro4 for Crandon because we pretty much have the Pro Mod championship wrapped up,” said Chaney. “We’re learning a lot and we’ll go into next year with some confidence.” Chaney will finish out the Midwest Short Course racing season during the World Championship Off Road Races, scheduled for August 31-September 1 at Crandon International Raceway in Wisconsin.
