Pataskala, OH (8/13/2018) –Can-Am/XPS Lubricants/CT Raceworx/Evolution Powersports driver Kyle Chaney scored his third victory of the season and added a runner-up finish to his 2018 statistics during the Lucas Oil Midwest Short Course League Pro Modified SXS races at Bark River International Raceway in Escanaba, MI. Chaney was driving a Can-Am X3 at the technical and fast track. The doubleheader event was held at the wide and expansive Bark River off road facility in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. After snagging the top qualifier award for both races, Chaney drew second in both inverts. In Saturday’s race, he dogged the eventual winner throughout the event, but intake temperature issues slowed his charge and he finished second. 
“The first couple of laps the car was running really good and Rod and I were running neck and neck,” said Chaney. “Then my intake temperatures started to climb. The EVO tune has parameters to take out timing to ensure we don’t blow the engine. be second in limp mode is pretty good.” Chaney had EVO change the tune for Sunday’s race and it made a huge difference. After starting second, he took the lead early and held off a charging Rodney VanEperen to score the victory. 
“We changed the tune and it ran awesome all day,” said Chaney. “Rod and I were neck and neck and it really came down to the wire. I was hitting my marks, and you couldn’t get closer racing. It’s always good to leave with a win, but when you have a close win, it’s even better. I love good racing and we had that today.”Chaney ran his Maxxis Ceros tires during the weekend. As the weekend progressed, rocks became a big problem and many drivers in the field experienced flats. Chaney made an air pressure adjustment on Sunday to deal with the rough surface and the legendary Maxxis durability paid off. 
“I ran a little more air pressure today because this track had so many rocks and I wanted to avoid any tire problems,” said Chaney. “So I wasn’t able to hold an inside line, but it ran great on the cushion. We had no flats, and there was no other tire I’d rather be running. The Maxxis tires always work well.” Several big jumps on the course, as well as a challenging rhythm section made shock tuning an integral part of Chaney’s success. His Fox Shocks with G-Force tuning worked flawlessly. “My car worked exactly how I wanted it to work,” said Chaney. “I couldn’t have driven it any harder and I couldn’t have done anything else to make the car better.”Chaney is looking to finish out the season on the top step of the podium as the Midwest Short Course League holds it season finale August 31-September 1 at Crandon International Raceway in Wisconsin.
