Evolution Powersports is always working to provide our customers with innovative features that no one else can offer. Our latest mind-blowing product is Anti-lag/Rolling Launch Control (RLC) for the Can-Am X3 MG1 platforms.
For those unfamiliar with RLC, it works a lot like standard launch control except while moving. It would primarily be used for a rolling start drag race. For example, many people like to race up Oldsmobile at the Glamis Sand Dunes. Typically, a few cars will line up and drive low-speed through the whoop section, then give the arm drop. In this situation, EVP RLC would give you a massive advantage because you could launch from a roll with the turbo spooled and up to 20lbs of boost already in the charge tube. This would be especially helpful on big turbo cars. The same would apply to rolling start drag races on Sand Highway or anywhere else.
RLC is activated by pressing the button on our steering wheel mounted switch (highly recommended option) or by pressing the brake pedal enough to trigger the switch so the tail lights are illuminated, then pressing the skinny pedal to the floor. The tune will limit the RPM to approximately 4500 and will build boost while keeping the RPM under control. We have designed our RLC to only be active in ECO mode. This way it is separated from the normal EVP Launch Control. ECO mode now behaves like SPORT mode except when you press the button or brake and are on the gas at the same time. ECO with RLC would only be used for heads up rolling drag racing. After the race, you would switch back to Sport Mode for normal operation or to use EVP Launch Control for drag racing from a standstill.
This revolutionary feature will be available for most stock turbo and big turbo MG1 X3’s, including the 2024 RR. And that’s not all! We’re excited to announce that we’ll be bringing this game-changing technology to the Maverick R in the near future. Stay tuned for more updates!
