Designed for both stock and big turbo applications, it addresses performance and strength limitations while ensuring balanced airflow to each cylinder. The plastic OEM plenum induces turbulence at higher boost pressures, disrupting airflow and limiting performance. The dual-chamber EVP manifold is machined from 6061 billet aluminum and engineered to equalize pressure and airflow to all runners and cylinders.
Based upon our long experience with the X3, we wanted to engineer a solution that addresses the shortcomings of the OEM plastic plenum, maximizes power output at all RPM ranges, and makes every Maverick R engine compartment stand out with stunning billet bling. The R&D process began with reverse engineering the OEM Can-Am Maverick R intake manifold and analyzing its features. Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) testing was conducted at stock boost and elevated boost pressures. As boost pressure rises, flow becomes less stable. Turbulent flow leads to cylinder imbalance, which can cause a variation in air being delivered to each cylinder.
The OEM plenum was also designed to make maximum power at a lower RPM than we typically run our Maverick R tunes — especially with upgraded valvetrain and big turbo systems. Runner length, resistance to flow, turbulence, and overall design affects the maximum power potential, as well as the RPM at which power is achieved.

EVP wanted to achieve maximum power at elevated RPMs without sacrificing low RPM response. Having an inlet chamber separated from the larger plenum chamber allows us to feed in the charge-air, collect it in the top chamber and distribute it evenly to the bottom chamber with very little turbulence. Our prototype was designed to accept different-length runners so we could Dyno test the effect of the length on the power curve. Our test vehicle, a 2024 stock engine Maverick R with a P47 flex fuel turbo kit running E85, allowed us to determine that a shorter runner showed an approximate 10WHP gain in the upper RPM range (8200-8900) over the stock plenum without sacrificing any bottom end power.
The EVP Billet Intake Manifold for Maverick R is designed to accommodate the stock 54mm Bosch throttle body as well as an enhanced 60mm throttle body. This kit comes with an EVP Silicone Charge Tube to fit the new design.
