EVP Badass Series Belts have been the industry’s gold standard for the last seven years. They are what allowed us to make insane horsepower and keep high-horsepower dune or trail riding more fun. No one likes to change a belt (or two) per day, and the Badass Series Belts overcame the inherent issues with OEM and other aftermarket belts that failed to hold up under high horsepower.
However, EVP is never content to rest. So, we approached a belt manufacturer with the idea to make a CVT drive belt that was substantially more durable than the existing line of Badass belts. Enter Alpha Drive Belts.
MATERIALS & COMPOUNDS
Alpha Drive Belts’ durability comes from a newly blended, synthetic rubber, advanced cord technology, as well as precision machined belt face angles. The compound, materials and finish are the keys to durability. In total, we tested six different compounds – although all were superior to anything else on the market, the one we selected stood out among the rest.
PRECISION FINISH
Precision-machined belt face angles finished to strict specifications deliver more belt-to-sheave contact for insane pulls off the line, lower temperatures, and more power to the ground compared to knife-cut finished belts.
REINFORCED COMPOUND
All-new advanced rubber compound with maximum fiber loading transmits the most horsepower, with reinforced highly engineered top and bottom cog designs resist cupping, deformation and delamination.
SUPERIOR STRENGTH
Constructed with an ultra-strong Aramid cord with high twist characteristics for greater shock absorption and load capabilities compared to anything on the market.
MORE POWER
In addition to strength, the Alpha Belt consistently showed the highest horsepower runs vs OEM or any of the other compounds we tested. On average, it was 15 WHP more than any other belt. More engine power was being transmitted to the hubs and less was being wasted in slippage and heat – it was clear early on Alpha Belts were an absolute game changer for putting power to the driveline.

Results from real-time datalogs during sanctioned short course racing show a jaw-dropping 58-degree temperature difference between the Alpha Belt and its unnamed competition. Precision-machined belt face angles deliver more contact to the sheaves, resulting in drastically lower temperatures, longer belt life, and more power to the ground.

For the next test, an EVP Alpha Belt was installed on a Can-Am X3 running the BITD Vegas to Reno endurance race. The belt ran the entire race without failure and posted some of the lowest belt temperatures we have ever seen during a desert race. Next, we took our 800 hp drag race Pro R in the field with high RPM and High Boost launches. Again, the Alpha belt was more durable than anything else we have ever used.
