2021-2022 Can Am Maverick X3 Turbo RR 2-Step Launch Control Programming

$350-$857

LAUNCH CONTROL REQUIREMENTS: After months of testing and fine-tuning, EVP’s groundbreaking 2-step Launch Control is now available for early model 2021, as well as late-model ’21 and all ‘22 Maverick X3 Turbo RR’s with the new Bosch MG1C ECU. Drop the hammer and reap the rewards of an approximate two-car-length lead off the line vs. a non-launch-equipped vehicle. To activate, press and hold the launch control switch for 1.5 seconds – this will put the vehicle into “staging” mode as indicated by an ~2000 RPM raised idle. To activate the Launch Control Strategy, press the brake and push the accelerator pedal to the floor. The EVP advanced ECU logic takes over – retarding ignition and adding fuel which creates exhaust energy to spool the turbocharger. In about 3 seconds, 5-10 lbs of boost is available depending upon launch RPM.* Once the brake is released, the engine accelerates instantly to peak power. This is because the turbocharger is already producing boost even though the belt is not engaged. Launching a vehicle with boost makes it quicker than a non-launch equipped vehicle because the non-launch equipped vehicle will always have turbo lag. With launch control, there is no lag – just instant acceleration which gives your vehicle a substantial advantage over a non-launch equipped vehicle.

DIAGNOSTIC PORT POWER FLASH PACKAGE PRE NOVEMBER 2020 MANUFACTURE DATE:
Through additional research and testing, EVP engineers also cracked the code to unlock the diagnostic port flash for the pre November 2020 manufacture date Bosch MG1C ECU. This means that tunes can be changed and updated by our cloud-based tune delivery system. The ECU will need to be sent to us to perform this software unlock. This is a free service with the purchase of the new MG1C Launch Control Upgrade. The turnaround is time is 2-3 days. Once unlocked, the ECU can be flashed with either Maptuner or CodeShooter. (Not compatible with any other company’s tunes or tuning devices).

Download tunes directly from our server and flash your X3 Turbo RR in a matter of minutes, plus be first to receive free updates and improvements if/when they become available!

DIAGNOSTIC PORT POWER FLASH PACKAGE POST NOVEMBER 2020 MANUFACTURE DATE:
EVP engineers also cracked the code to unlock the diagnostic port flash for the Post November 2020 manufacture date MG1C ECU WITH THE EVP UNLOCKED ECU. This means that tunes can be changed and updated by our cloud-based tune delivery system AFTER the ECU has been unlocked by EVP. (Learn more about our ECU Unlock Service HERE.) They will need to be sent to us to perform a hardware unlock. This is a labor-intensive process that requires a team of EVP engineers to bypass the security module on the Bosch MG1C ECU.

ADDITIONAL LAUNCH CONTROL NOTES & REQUIREMENTS:
  • Available in 2200, 2400, 2700, 3000 Launch RPM options
  • Includes EVP Launch Control Switch Cover for use with OEM momentary switch.
(NOTE: DO NOT use non-factory switch. To engage, hold for 1.5 seconds. Staging Mode is engaged when you hear/see the RPMs climb from normal idle speed to 2000 RPM.)
  • Staging Mode times out after 60 seconds
  • Time available on Launch Control: 10 seconds
  • Launch Mode requires that the coolant temperature be above 130° F and below 212° F and intake air temperature to be below 158° F
  • Launch Mode will disengage after the vehicle has launched or moved
  • Staging Mode disengages after the vehicle has launched or moved
  • Launch Mode is safety protected by calculated EGT values
  • Launch Mode will not engage in reverse
  • Requires brake lights to be functional
*NOTE: Big Turbos, higher elevations and hot, humid temperatures will reduce the boost you can make at a given RPM.

LAUNCH CONTROL REQUIREMENTS:
• Tuning: EVP Launch Control Software Update is ONLY available for EVP-tuned vehicles and is not compatible with any other tuning company’s ECU flashes. If your Turbo RR does not have an EVP tune, CLICK HERE.

• Clutching: EVP strongly recommends upgrading from stock primary and secondary clutching to achieve correct RPM engagement, which is vital to proper launch control functionality.
• EVP.MOde Spec TAPP Primary Clutch Kits
• EVP Shift-Tek and Shift-Tek-P Clutch Kits • STM Primary Clutch Kits

After months of testing and fine-tuning, EVP’s groundbreaking 2-step Launch Control is now available for early model 2021, as well as late-model ’21 and all ‘22 Maverick X3 Turbo RR’s with the new Bosch MG1C ECU. Reap the rewards of an approximate two-car-length lead off the line vs. a non-launch-equipped vehicle. EVP’s Adjustable 2-Step Launch Control for Turbo RR’s is activated by pressing and holding the launch control switch for 1.5 seconds. With the launch setting activated, you’ll build boost from a standstill without engaging the belt by simultaneously stepping on the brake and applying full throttle. This is when the magic happens. You have a rev limit (available in 2400, 2700 or 3000 launch RPM), retarted ignition, and added fuel. The engine starts to pop and backfire while your boost gauge climbs from vacuum up to 8 lbs. of boost* in about 3 seconds. Once the brake is released, it’s like being shot out of a cannon and you’re launching your way to glory!

BUILDS BOOST FROM A STANDSTILL

Once engaged, we’ve engineered the ECU logic to retard the ignition timing while adding fuel which gives the exhaust energy it needs to spool the turbo and build massive boost at low RPMs.

HOW IT WORKS

Launch control allows the engine to build gobs of boost without engaging the belt. This EVP exclusive ECU programming holds the engine at a preset RPM when the brake is fully depressed and the accelerator pedal is pushed to the floor (vehicle not moving). EVP launch control is 100% integrated into the OEM ECU code and it does not require any wiring or “piggyback” spark interrupter modules. A clutch engagement RPM which corresponds to the various launch RPM programs is all that is needed for proper operation.

TO ENGAGE

Press the brake and push the accelerator pedal to the floor. The EVP advanced ECU logic takes over – retarding ignition and adding fuel which creates exhaust energy to spool the turbocharger. In about 3 seconds, 5-10 lbs. of boost is available depending upon launch RPM.* Once the brake is released, the engine accelerates instantly to peak power.
*Big Turbos, higher elevations and hot, humid temperatures will reduce the boost you can make at a given RPM.

HOW TO BUY

Adjustable Launch Control features are only available with purchase of a CodeShooter Device.

Launch Control cannot be used on stock clutching

Our Shift-Tek High Engagement Orange Spring is required for proper operation, as well as an EVP Launch Switch
