At EVP, we believe that in order to perform proper R&D, the vehicle must be owned so the necessary development can be done both on the dyno and in real world conditions. Our company owned XPT’s and PRO XP'S have spent countless hours on the dyno to test different software calibrations and hardware components. Once the tuning was complete, our vehicles were field tested for months in Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Michigan, Minnesota, Utah and Wisconsin. These places represent the vast majority of conditions our customers drive their vehicle and this helps to ensure the tuning is optimized and tested in the environment our customers ride.

For 2019-2021 Polaris made many changes to both the fuel system and tuning of the Bosch ME17 ECU. The biggest change is the fuel system was changed from a return style, rising rate setup to an automotive type return less configuration. The new hardware includes a separate fuel pump controller which varies the pressure to the fuel rail based upon input from an inline fuel pressure sensor and programming. The controller accomplishes this by raising and lowering the voltage to the pump. When the vehicle is keyed on, the fuel pressure initially rises to approximately 70psi. Once the engine is started, the fuel pressure drops to 40 psi and stays there until the engine sees boost pressure. In boost, the controller raises the fuel pressure back to 70 psi.The system makes for a much better running and safer setup as compared with earlier models. EVP has made more power with our tuning on this model than any previous generation, stock turbo, stock injector vehicle.Stages 1-5R are done using the stock injectors and stock fuel pump! Not only that, our tunes for this vehicle are the most refined we have done for this family of vehicles. The EVAP model is also safer because the return fuel line has been eliminated and in general, the fuel pressure is lower than the previous rising rate setup.

This makes a huge difference in the average temperature the engine operates at and prevents run away coolant temps on hot days and high loads. When we develop our ECU calibrations, we engineer them based on our real world testing and how we ride and race. Insatiable when it comes to development, our process starts out with over 200+ dyno runs in our state-of-the-art, climate-controlled Dyno Room.
We then field test on trails, desert, dunes and high altitude for driveability and long-term durability. We also run in the 110+ degree California weather to ensure performance at extreme temperatures.After the rigorous field-testing route is completed, they are further proven and refined on the track through our EVP race teams and Sponsored Racers.

A Power Flash is the act of flashing your vehicle's ECU (Electronic Control Unit) with an EVP engineered tune.
