*Each Tune is tailored for the specific components installed on your X3, so some Stages require additional hardware. Additional hardware will automatically be added to your order if required. If you already own additional hardware, you can delete those items from your cart prior to placing final order or call our Sales Dept @ (715) 715-3862.
Purchasing an EVP ECU Power Flash (Tune) requires you remove your vehicle’s ECU and ship it to our shop at: 2018 Hwy 35 Somerset, WI 54025. Alternatively, you can Tune Yourself by purchasing a Tuning Device, options found here.
EVP has made more power on this model than any previous generation stock turbo - stock injector vehicle
Our tunes not only improve boost, fuel, timing, rev limit and speed limit changes, we also help the cooling system issues by lowering the fan on temperature by 20 Deg F. This makes a huge difference in the average temperature the engine operates at and prevents run away coolant temps on hot days and high loads. Each tune is customized with fueling corrections for intakes, exhausts, etc.
Polaris made many changes to both the fuel system and tuning of the Bosch ME17 ECU. The biggest change is the fuel system was changed from a return style, rising rate setup to an automotive type return less configuration. The new hardware includes a separate fuel pump controller which varies the pressure to the fuel rail based upon input from an inline fuel pressure sensor and programming. The controller accomplishes this by raising and lowering the voltage to the pump. When the vehicle is keyed on, the fuel pressure initially rises to approximately 70psi. Once the engine is started, the fuel pressure drops to 40 psi and stays there until the engine sees boost pressure. In boost, the controller raises the fuel pressure back to 70 psi.
The system makes for a much better running and safer setup as compared with earlier models.
Tune Features
- Massive wheel horsepower gains
- Rev limiters raised by 500 RPMS both high and low gears - custom rev limits upon request
- Speed limiters raised: High gear-15 MPH
- Low gear-10 MPH
- Reverse-9 MPH
- No piggyback fuel controllers to mess with
- Dramatically lowered coolant temperatures by manipulating the fan on/off temperatures (EVP was the first company to do this)
Stage Tune Suffix Identifiers:
- R: The Turbo Wastegate Crack Pressure Must Be Adjusted for Higher Boost (see our video on the 'Additional Information' tab)
- Non R: Tunes do not require any wastegate adjustment.
Our two EVP Turbo S machines have about 4000 combined dyno runs to verify horsepower gains. When we develop tunes for vehicles, beta versions are refined in our state of the art, climate-controlled dyno room. We then test the tunes throughout the US including the deserts of Arizona in 115 Deg+ temperatures, Glamis & Dumont, CA, high elevation in Steamboat Springs, CO and on the trails in the Midwest.
