2017 X3 ECU Programming – 2018 Specs with Fuel Pump

The 2018 Maverick X3 172 HP model comes with a new upgraded fuel pump with higher rail pressure.  The advantage of this is we can make more power than the 2017 models due to additional fuel system overhead. All tunes listed below include the 2018 172 HP fuel pump assembly. If you already have an EVP 2017 X3 Ecu program and want to upgrade to the 18 spec programs or if you have already purchased the 18 X3-R fuel pump separately, please call our sales department at 715-247-3862.  They will help with pricing.

*Maximum boost figures are at sea level and modest air temperatures – high altitude and high density altitude can reduce the maximum boost of the highest horsepower tunes due to turbocharger limitations.

Launch Control Option

Factory ECU integrated 2 Step Launch Control Upgrade Option:

For those who are unfamiliar with 2 step – the purpose of it is to allow you to build boost from a standstill without engaging the belt.  In racing situations, this gives you an incredible advantage over your buddies.  Generally, it provides about a 2 car length lead right from the holeshot vs a non-launch equipped vehicle. This product has been in the works for over 2 years, and it is finally ready for prime time.  To engage ILC, you must be below 5 MPH, step on the brake to engage and apply full throttle. This is when the magic happens – you have a rev limit at either 2300 or 2600 RPMs, retarded ignition and added fuel.  The engine starts to pop and backfire while you watch your boost gauge climb from vacuum to up to 8 lbs of boost in about 3 seconds.  As soon as you release the brake, it is like being shot out of a cannon and you launch your way to glory ahead of your buddies! (Note: Big turbos, higher elevations and hot, humid temperatures will reduce the boost you can make at a given RPM.  Higher RPM engagement and rev cut need to be used.  EVP will offer other options for this in the near future)

This product is only available for EVP tunes and is not compatible with any other tuning companies ECU flashes. ILC tunes combined with EVP Shift Tech clutch kits will dominate this fall! Shift Tech is EVP’s advanced clutching packages with weights, custom springs helixes.

Requires the EVP Launch Switch (if you do not have it already) and a 2400 RPM Engagement. Select the spring option below if your RPMs are below this threshold.

Tune letter descriptions:

“R” designation = the turbo wastegate crack pressure must be adjusted for higher boost (see our video on how to do this here)
“W” designation = a replacement wastegate actuator is included with the tune|
“i” designation = big injector tune and includes flow matched injectors
“X” designation = EXTREME power and is the maximum that can be achieved with the stock turbocharger
