There have been many cases of OEM plenums failing on stock engines and modified engines producing even modest boost pressures. We have had countless failures on our in-house X3's over the years and knew there had to be a way to solve this. EVP is excited to share a solution to this common issue. The Clamp is a lightweight but durable brace that 'clamps' around the OEM intake plenum, preventing the premature failure of the plenum by reinforcing its weak points.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Clamp was developed using the latest technologies, including 3D scanning to give it a perfect fit. Constructed of 6061-T6 aluminum, this CNC machined brace was designed to have optimal strength while being mindful to overall weight. It has been extensively tested on race vehicles and highly modified engines to ensure its effectiveness and durability.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch1\u003eTesting \u0026amp; Development\u003c\/h1\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eSimulated Test: \u003c\/strong\u003eWe have conducted an extensive simulated testing regimen on The Clamp. The validation consisted of repeatedly applying pressure to OEM plenums - one with and one without The Clamp. As you can see in the video above, the plenum with The Clamp withstood ~70 PSI of pressure with no stress or damage. We then tested identical plenum without The Clamp installed. When tested in the same manner, it blew apart at ~35 PSI of pressure.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn this test we were able to simulate boost pressure, but real world factors such as heat, vibration, shock and engine pulsation could not be accounted for. This is why non clamped OEM plenums fail at much lower boost pressures. While 35 PSI may be an unrealistic amount of boost for you to push in your vehicle, keep in mind those other variables that play a part in real-world applications. Experience has shown countess plenums failing at boost pressures as low as 22 psi and some at stock (15 psi) of boost pressure.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eField Testing: \u003c\/strong\u003eThe Clamp has also been tested in harsh racing conditions, including hundreds of hard miles in the Mint 400 and Iceman 500. Two race vehicles ran The Clamp during the brutal 400+ mile Mint 400 with no plenum issues. At the 2020 Iceman 500, we had two race cars running the identical X100 tune, one with The Clamp installed and one without. The car with The Clamp ran a flawless race with no damage to the plenum, while car without The Clamp had a plenum failure about 300 miles into the 500 mile race. Since clutching is a balance between the primary and secondary, there is no one 'magic' helix angle.  EVP cannot make specific recommendations if your primary clutch setup has components from another company.  However, generally if your rpm are too low, a shallower range helix and\/or stiffer secondary spring will raise rpm. This will also provide more squeeze on the belt which is useful if you are experiencing belt slip.  Conversely, if your rpm are too high, a steeper range helix and\/or softer secondary spring will lower rpm. The factory recirculates crankcase air back into the intake. This air contains oil, moisture and other combustion byproducts which contaminates the air that is being fed to the turbocharger. The oil- and water-infused air coats the turbocharger compressor blades, charge tubes, intercooler and intake valves. It can also change the air\/fuel ratio and lower the effective octane of the mixture being introduced into the cylinder. Oil has a very low knock threshold, therefore the more oil contained in the incoming air, the lower the effective knock protection of whatever fuel is being used.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-weight: 400;\" data-mce-style=\"font-weight: 400;\"\u003eSince we never rest on our success, the \u003cstrong\u003enew-and-improved EVP Air\/Oil Separator Catch Can\u003c\/strong\u003e was redesigned specifically for RZR models to combat and eliminate the issues described above. Our CNC-machined billet aluminum separator mounts to the frame rail above the clutch housing. The OEM crankcase vent hose is simply rerouted to the \u003cstrong\u003eall-new and included EV Billet Manifold\u003c\/strong\u003e that mounts directly to the engine. Our baseline was the OEM Polaris Pro R belt, which at the time was the best belt for the Pro R that we came across. The EVP Alpha Belt lasted double the dyno pulls vs the OEM. This test was repeated numerous times, and the results were the same – TWO TIMES the life of the OEM belt!\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn addition to strength, the Alpha Belt consistently showed the highest horsepower runs vs OEM or any of the other compounds we tested. On average, it was 15 WHP more than any other belt.
